Is this much water reduction in a pond normal?
I built a pond in my backyard with a 500 GPH pump to a waterfall. The waterfall has EPDM liner, rocks, expandable foam and roofing cement, yet some water still gets outside of the desired path. If I run the pump for a full day, the pond is about 2 inches emptier. Is this normal, or should I continue trying to waterproof the edges of the waterway?
You are losing water through the waterfall. I would try rebuilding it completely. Don't use any foam or roofing cement. Look at these photos for ideas.
